Visiting EmpoweRanch: EmpoweRanch is on a private ranch and residence and is not open for drop-in or unscheduled visits. For the safety, privacy, and sensory needs of our participants, as well as the well-being of our animals and neighbors, all visits must be arranged in advance through program registration, scheduled appointments, volunteer shifts, or designated community events that include RSVP details. Please refer to each listing for specific registration or RSVP information.

Welcome Home Day - Community Volunteer Event
Welcome Home Day is our first community day of the fall season and a chance for volunteers, interns, families, and community members of all ages to come back to the ranch, reconnect, meet the animals, and help us get EmpoweRanch ready for the months ahead.
Fall Adventure Camp
8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
For children and teens ages 6 through 17
Children age 5 may attend with an older sibling. Campers ages 13 through 17 may participate in our Teen Leadership Development Track.
Give your child five adventure-filled camp days with equines, ranch animals, outdoor exploration, creativity, laughter, friendship, and fall fun at EmpoweRanch!
Campers will care for and learn all about equines and other animals, explore nature, play active games, complete team challenges, create seasonal projects, contribute around the ranch, and discover new skills and interests. Mounted horsemanship experiences are planned after campers complete foundational safety and unmounted instruction.
Camp is professionally designed and led by Jessica Voss, a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, AAEE Certified Environmental Educator, and NRPA Certified Parks and Recreation Professional. Our interdisciplinary team maintains no more than four campers per team member.
Registration includes the complete five-day experience. Individual camp days and extended camp hours are not available.
Maximum riding weight: 180 pounds
EmpoweRanch Fall Adventure Camp 2026
Five Adventure-Filled Days at EmpoweRanch
Give your child an unforgettable fall break filled with equines, ranch animals, outdoor exploration, creative projects, active games, friendship, and hands-on adventure!
Campers will explore horsemanship from the ground up, care for animals, discover nature, spend time in the garden, complete team challenges, contribute around the ranch, and build confidence, responsibility, communication, and practical new skills while having an incredible week.
Mounted horsemanship experiences are planned after campers complete foundational safety and unmounted instruction. Teens ages 13 through 17 may participate in our Teen Leadership Development Track.

Third Annual Veterans Camp Out℠ 2026
Three days and two nights of outdoor therapeutic recreation, connection, service, and adventure in the cool pines of northern Arizona.
The EmpoweRanch Veterans Camp Out℠ welcomes military veterans and active-duty service members for an intentionally designed weekend that combines camping and camaraderie with experiences that support mental health, confidence, connection, and well-being.
Participants will meet ranch animals, take part in a guided unmounted experience with members of the EmpoweRanch herd, explore the forest, learn outdoor skills, practice grounding and mindfulness techniques, complete team challenges, contribute to a service project, and enjoy time around the campfire.
Friday check-in: 2:00–4:00 p.m.
Sunday departure: Around 11:00 a.m.
Location: Near Christopher Creek, approximately 30 minutes northeast of Payson
Meals: Provided
Eligibility: Military veterans and active-duty service members
The camp is offered at no cost in gratitude for your service. Registration requires a $25 commitment deposit, which will be returned at camp check-in.
Some activities take place on uneven natural terrain. Tell us about any mobility, access, pacing, dietary, or support needs during registration so our team can plan appropriate routes, adaptations, and activity options. Limited loaner camping equipment is available by advance request.

🌻🐴 Open House - Youth & Family Focus
Youth & Family Open House — April 7 | 4:30-5:30 pm
Join us for a family-friendly Open House at EmpoweRanch! This informal, low-pressure gathering is a chance for families to meet our team, visit the animals, and get a feel for the ranch before enrolling in programs.
We’ll share what EmpoweRanch programs are all about, answer your questions, and offer a short tour of the spaces where kids learn, explore, and build confidence through hands-on outdoor experiences. Families will also learn how our youth and family programs fit within our broader approach to outdoor, equine, and nature-based learning and growth.
This event is free and open to families interested in our programs. No prior ranch or horse experience is needed.
Please wear closed-toe shoes, bring a refillable water bottle, and leave pets at home. Children must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times.
